Digital Family Home ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website digitalfamilyhome.com and the Digital Family Home application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Account & Profile Information
When you register we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash). If you sign in via Google, Apple, or Microsoft OAuth, we receive the name and email provided by that provider.
Household & Family Data
You may voluntarily add information about your household and family members, including:
Financial Account Data (Stripe Financial Connections)
If you connect a bank or financial account through Stripe Financial Connections, we receive read-only access to account balances and transaction data provided by Stripe. We do not store your banking credentials. Data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
File Uploads
Files you upload (documents, images, attachments) are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 in encrypted form. Access is controlled by AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies.
Usage & Technical Data
We automatically collect IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and Service usage logs for security monitoring and error diagnosis. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
Communications
If you use our contact form or send an email to hello@digitalfamilyhome.com, we retain the content of that message to respond to your inquiry.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising.
We share data with the following categories of service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (e.g., billing records for up to 7 years).
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields (financial keys, calendar tokens), bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Household members designated as minors within the app have restricted access to financial and document features. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication and payment security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Digital Family Home website (digitalfamilyhome.com) or application (collectively, the "Service") operated by Digital Family Home ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may register with an email and password or via supported OAuth providers (Google, Apple, Microsoft). You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Notify us immediately at hello@digitalfamilyhome.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Plans
Digital Family Home offers a free 14-day trial followed by paid subscription tiers (Standard, Pro, and Ultimate). Current pricing is displayed on our Pricing page and may change with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on the applicable billing cycle.
Free Trial
Your 14-day free trial begins on the date you register. No credit card is required to start; a payment method is required to continue service after the trial ends. We will send a reminder before the trial expires.
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact hello@digitalfamilyhome.com within 14 days of the charge.
Feature Limits by Plan
Each plan grants a specific set of features, storage limits, and household member allowances as described on the Pricing page. Exceeding the limits of your plan may require an upgrade.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without prior notice.
You retain full ownership of all content, data, and files you upload or create in the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and process Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service.
We do not claim any ownership over Your Content and will never sell, rent, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
The Service integrates with third-party services including Google, Apple, Microsoft, Stripe, and Anthropic. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the respective provider's terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.
Certain features use Anthropic's Claude API to generate suggestions, summaries, and draft messages. AI-generated content is provided for convenience only and may contain errors. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated output before acting on it. We do not warrant the accuracy or fitness of AI responses for any particular purpose.
All software, design, trademarks, logos, and content in the Service (excluding Your Content) are the exclusive property of Digital Family Home and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice where practicable. We are not liable for downtime caused by events outside our reasonable control, including infrastructure outages by AWS, Stripe, or other providers.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DIGITAL FAMILY HOME AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Digital Family Home from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your use of the Service, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. We will retain Your Content for 30 days following termination so you may export it; after that period it will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction therein.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
